I saw a message on your site in which a guest requested a ghazal by Hafiz on Dec 4, 2000. As I have the "Divan-i Hafiz" with me, I thought that other visitors might be interested in the ghazal and its English translation. Sorry I don't have any Arabic Word Processing software so the ghazal is as a transliteration.
The Ghazal
Gul.a'zaarey za gulistaan-i jahaan maa raa bus; zeen chaman saaya-i aan surv-i ravaan maa raa bus.
Mun-o hum-suhbatee-i ahl-i riyaa doorum baad; az giraanaan-i jahaan rutl-i giraan maa raa bus.
Qusr-i firdoos bapaadaash-i a'mal mee bakhshand; maa ki rindeem-o-gadaa deer-i Mughaan maa raa bus.
Banasheen bur lub-i jooee o-guzar-i o'mr babeen; keen ishaarat za jahaan-i guzaraan maa raa bus.
Nuqd-i baazaar-i jahaan bangar-o aazaar-i jahaan; gar shumaa raa na bus een sood-o-ziyaan, maa raa bus.
Yaar baa maast, che haajat ki ziyaadat talabam; daulat-i suhbat-i aan moonas-i jaan maa raa bus.
Az dar-i khuweish Khudaa raa ba-bahishteem mufarast; ki sar-i koo-i too az kaun-o-makaan maa raa bus.
Neest maa raa bajuz az wasl-i too dar sur hawas-i; ween tijaarat za mataa'-i doo jahaan maa raa bus.
Khulwat-i uns-i wisaalat ki ba.o'mrey jastam; daad daadast bamaa waz doo jahaan maa raa bus.
Baagh-o ishrat-gah-i dunyaa bamalook arzaani; maa faqeereem-o gada, koo-i butaan maa raa bus.
Haafiz az mushrab-i qismat gilah bi-insaafeest; Tab.a' choon aab-o ghazal.haa-i rawaan maa raa bus.
Translation:
Rose-cheeked from world's garden, for us is enough; the shade of the cypress from this garden, for us is enough.
Me and the company of hypocrites, may God it never happens; the burden of a heavy wine-cup from the world's heavy burdens, for us is enough.
The heaven's palace is awarded for good deeds; we are drinkers and paupers, the temple of the Magi for us is enough.
Sit for a while on the bank of a stream and think about you passing life; for this sign in the fleeting world, for us is enough.
Look at all the pleasures of this world, and the sorrows; it may not be enough for you, but for us is enough.
Our friend is with us, what need do we have to ask for more? the wealth of that life's consolation, for us is enough.
From your doorstep, for God's sake, do not send us to heaven; the corner of your lane, from the whole realm of time and space, for us is enough.
Other than a meeting with you, we have no desire; and this tradeoff, with everything this universe has, for us is enough.
To be alone with you, has been a desire of whole life; now you are with us and this, compared to the whole universe, for us is enough.
All the gardens and the luxuries of this world, let the kings have it; we are paupers and have-nots, the beloved's lane for us is enough.
Hafiz, it will be unfair to complain to the Distributor of Fate; This pleasant nature, and these melodious poems, for us is enough.

Thought you might want to know that there are a couple more collections of Hafiz translations that your site might benefit from: IN WINESELLER'S STREET, translations by Thomas Rain Crowe, published by Ibex Publishing, Bethesda, MD, 1998. And, forthcoming from Shambhala: DRUNK ON THE WINE OF THE BELOVED, translations by Thomas Rain Crowe, Shambhala , due to release in August, 2001. Ah....found it. I am...under the influence....Hafiz has haunted me now these past six months or so. He says the only reason he "haunts" is that I am looking in the mirror - laughing. By fluke I had access to this page and it was the best thing that every happened to me.
Whenever I am in any kind of dilema, wondering what step I should take, how I should tackle a situation the simple answer if Fal e Hafiz. As kids our grand father referred to the persian texts for all answers. Unfortunately we did not learn Farsi to be able to read the poems.
